Introduction to LISMAR
LISMAR Engineering B.V., founded in 1988 and originally located in Abcoude, Netherlands, aimed to develop control system retrofitting solutions for existing machines. Following a management change in 1992, LISMAR continued the work of Asko B.V.'s automation department, obtaining permission from Dofasco to produce and sell original Dofasco eddy current roller monitors. Since then, LISMAR has specialized in manufacturing and selling roller inspection systems and roll grinding machine control systems for the steel and aluminum industries.
In 1994, LISMAR relocated its headquarters to Ouderkerk a/d Amstel. In 2000, the company established LISMAR Inc. in North America to improve maintenance and repair response times. By 2012, LISMAR launched the innovative LRI roller inspection system, featuring advanced sensor technology, signal processing, and a graphical user interface. This system has since been widely adopted in the global steel and aluminum industries.
In 2017, LISMAR joined the Burke Porter Group and is now part of Ascential Technologies. Burke Porter Group is a global leader in custom high-end intelligent machinery design and manufacturing, optimizing machine control and performance through sensor-based feedback. Today, LISMAR has over 30 industry-leading engineers specializing in non-destructive testing, software, electronics, and mechanics. This diverse expertise allows LISMAR to design and manufacture systems tailored to customer specifications while providing ongoing support after the products leave the factory.
LISMAR collaborates closely with major steel mills, equipment suppliers, and roll manufacturers to drive new product development. To date, it has installed over 700 roller inspection systems at customer sites globally. To enhance customer service, LISMAR partners with local agents who are familiar with their respective industries, facilitating effective daily communication.
